Aurik Gustomo menyelesaikan program doktor pada Program Studi Doktor Manajemen Bisnis, Institut Pertanian Bogor (2011), meraih gelar Magister Teknik pada Program Studi Teknik dan Manajemen Industri, Institut Teknologi Bandung (1999), dan gelar Sarjana Teknik pada Jurusan Teknik Industri, Institut Teknologi Bandung (1996). Aurik menjadi dosen di Jurusan Teknik Industri ITB pada tahun 1996 dan kemudian tahun 2003 bergabung sebagai dosen sekaligus menjadi salah satu panitia pendirian Sekolah Bisnis dan Manajemen-ITB.

Saat ini yang bersangkutan adalah Ketua Sub-Kelompok Keahlian Manajemen Insani dan Pengetahuan (People and Knowledge Management), SBM-ITB. Mata kuliah yang diajarkan di SBM-ITB mencakup Human Capital Management (S1), Competence-Based Human Resource Management (S2 MSM), Cross-Cultural & Conflict Management (S1), Managing Employee Performance (S1), Compensation Management (S1), Introduction to Business and Management (S1), People in Organization (S2 MBA), dan Manajemen Konflik dan Perubahan (S3 DSM).
