Although PT MRT Jakarta mostly learned from Japan’s MRT system, the company also collaborated with many entities including with educational institutions such as ITB and the Rapid Rail Academy Malaysia. Agung explained, “We sent the staff members to Malaysia because the country uses similar trains, has almost had the same language in order to understand better, and Malaysia its self has operated the mass rapid transit system (LRT and Monorail) for 20 years.”

“PT MRT Jakarta also works together with Institute Technology Bandung (ITB) in research and human resources development,” told Agung while mentioning that the collaboration would expand to train signaling, control, and automation technology.

This was the last chance for MRT Jakarta to have a public visit to the MRT underground project. The progress of overall construction was around 90 percent per December 2017. In 2018, PT MRT Jakarta focuses on accelerating the completion of the project following the launching in March 2019.
