Total E & P Indonesie is one of the largest contractors for the oil and gas (oil and gas), in Indonesia. This French company is also listed as Indonesia’s biggest gas producer and supplies about 60% of the Bontang LNG plant. As a Contractors Cooperation Contract (KKKS) of BPMIGAS, Total E & P Indonesie Bekapai produce oil and gas from the field, Handil, Tunu and Peciko located in Regency, East Kalimantan.
As the fifth biggest oil company in the world, Total E & P Indonesia conduct Corporate social responsibility (CSR) for Indonesia citizen which focused on five aspects namely: (1) fund for education and research, (2) health and nutrition program, (3) program for community economic empowerment and capacity building, (4) program for environment and alternative energy, and (5) foundation for native heritage preservation.
One of representation of CSR on education and research, Total E & P colaborated with School of Business and Management (SBM) ITB conducted oil exploration and production contract training which is held on 21 – 24 June 2010 at SBM ITB. The attendance of this training is third and fourth year student from all faculty and school at ITB except faculty of art and design. The trainer for this training is Professor Jehan Eric Blumereau, the Human Resource Manager of Total E & P since 1982. The module included in this training such as: (1) common provision to different oil contracts, (2) the concession, (3) the production sharing contract, (4) the other types of contract, (5) concluding remark on patrimonial contract. With this training, the students not only get knowledge about oil exploration and production contract, but they will receive beneficial certificate after passing the examination which conducted on the fourth date of the training.
