and Professor Hiroshi Deguchi (http://www.cs.dis.titech.ac.jp/en/) who are professors from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, will present the state of the art of research in Agent-based Modelling and Simulation for Policy Development.

WORKSHOP THEME
The main theme of this workshop isAgent-Based modelling and simulation for Policy Development. The research topics that will be discussed in this workshop deal with strategic national issues, such as:

Main topics:

  1. Economic development and poverty eradication
  2. Food Security

  5. Transportation and traffic congestion
  6. Natural disaster response and mitigation
  7. Other relevant topics.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of this workshop can be described as follows:

  1. Establishing communication and cooperation among researchers and practitioners in agent-based modelling and simulation both domestically and overseas.
  2. Documenting research findings, consultation projects that have been built up by researchers from all over Indonesia and the world, especially by using agent-based modelling and simulation for developing policies.
  3. Mapping the research finding and consultation projects that can be implemented by decision makers in government, especially those using systems approaches.

PRESENTER REGISTRATION
We invite academicians and practitioners to present their work in this workshop. Prospective presenters for the workshop should submit the following documents and note the instructions:

  1. The manuscript of your paper. The manuscript may have been published before such as in journals, proceedings, research reports, etc., or an unpublished manuscript. Your manuscript may be written either in Bahasa Indonesia or English. The manuscripts that have been published before can be sent directly without reformatting, while for new paper manuscript may be written in any format and typed neatly.
  2. Curriculum vitae (from the attached file or can be downloaded at the website http://www.pemodelan-kebijakan.com)

SELECTION CRITERIA
Incoming papers will be reviewed by a team from UKP4 and SBM ITB. Each prospective presenter may submit only one paper, and we expect papers of high quality related to workshop topics. Criteria that are used in the review process are:

  1. Originality
  2. Relevant to the workshop topics
  3. Potential application in national policy

PRESENTATION
The material presented in the workshop should cover as a minimum the following aspects:

  1. The importance and the relevance of research
  2. Research steps
  3. Potential applications of the research results
  4. Demonstration of model or simulation (if any)

IMPORTANT DATES

  1. Deadline for paper submission : March, 16 2012
