Friday (20/06/2014), Keluarga Mahasiswa Sekolah Bisnis dan Manajemen (KMSBM) ITB held an event celebrating the 8th birthday of its assemblage after it was found in 2006. The event was held throughout the day, however the highlight of the birthday bash started at 7pm when the organizers created a historical museum that recaps the journey of KMSBM from 2006 until today. The event then continued with a symbolic candle blowing.
This is the first ever birthday bash that is held ever since KMSBM has been established. KMSBM Birthday Bash, which was the name of the event, was intended as the initial moment of the beginning of a new management board of KMSBM for the period 2014-2015. Moreover, this event is intended to be an event where new members of the assemblage can gain knowledge of the past boards of KMSBM and how they grew KMSBM throughout the years. In the end, it is hoped that the new management board of KMSBM can move forward for the better without having to repeat the mistakes that has been done before. The new KMSBM board of directors have manage to decorate 2nd floor of SBM building with a birthday party theme that includes the colors of KMSBM ITB, which are blue, yellow and white. In addition, they also made a birthday tower cake, which consists of hundreds of homemade cupcakes made by the new board of directors in the same theme color.
What makes this birthday bash more interesting is how the event organizers raise funds for this event and how they promote the event to the rest of the members of KMSBM. Publication team created an online reserve invitation system using Google Forms and printed invitations are given when the members have filled the form. When undergoing registration, the members are given three limited edition KMSBM Birthday Bash merchandise package choices that they can choose from. These packages are what the event organizer uses as its main source or funding the event. Which results in the even organizers having no financial problem although they only have a week to prepare the birthday bash.
KMSBM Birthday Bash started from 4.30pm by opening the registration booth and free photo by the photo-booth nearby the Auditorium. After Maghrib, the event continue with speech given bt KMSBM Chairman and ended with candle blowing from the cupcake tower and shooting confetti to make the birthday bash more thrilling at SBM ITB parking lot. Moreover, the event didn?t stop there, after the birthday bash was over, KMSBM then continued the night by having a Malam Keakraban which was organized by SBM ITB 2016 until 9pm.
In the future, we hope that KMSBM can create another birthday bash that is even better than this year and can also invite the SBM ITB alumni to participate. Of course, not only for the sake of having festivity but also a way to reflect the condition of their assemblage so that it can continue to move forward and keep growing better and better.
