At this Fridaypreneurship, we invited Grahadea Kusuf CEO of PT. Kuassa Teknika, a software development company specializes in digital guitar amplification and audio processing, as a speaker.
A relatively new company in the software developer industry, Kuassa boasts a good track record for its plugins products. Established in 2009 with passion in music, the idea of having software developer business popped up because they know how expensive it can be to expand a recording studio and decided to use their limited fund to create audio software startup and produce their own custom music plugins. At the talk show titled “A Good Reputation isn’t Built in One Day,” Dea explains that good reputation does indeed was not built in one day. During the early years, Kuassa focused to keep improving the plugins and release more products up to the point where it finally gain good reviews in many user forums and therefore increasing sales for Kuassa’s products. Eventually, Kuassa’s products received reviews in many international forum and publications and in 2012 they won an award from Asia Pacific ICT Awards. Since then, sales has grown increasingly well for Kuassa.
In the Q&A session, Dea shares that in technical aspects of software developer industry it is important to have multi-platform support in windows, macintosh, and linux for your products, as well as a secure payment gateway with support to various online payment methods such as paypal, visa, mastercard, etc. Secure payment gateway is very crucial in e-commerce as it convince consumers to order without hesitation. In term of promoting the business, the simplest and most effective way is to give free sample. Especially in software industry, the money spent is insignificant considering they only need to create one sample product once and it can be tested by thousands of people. Lastly, when a fellow audience asked about how to handle doubts when starting a business, Dea advises when you have a passion in one area of interest, focus and follow your heart and intuition. Don’t give up hope.
