Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) held the 2nd International Conference on Human Capital and Knowledge Management (ICHCKM 2015) in East Hall ITB on 11 – 12 February 2015. The main spirit of this international conference is to build the networking and relationship; sharing the knowledge and experiences among ASEAN universities, business organizations, research institutes/research centers and the governments as well (ABG). Invited as Keynote Speaker, the Minister of Administrative and Beauracracy Reforms of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Yuddy Chrisnandi. In his speech, the minister emphasize in conducting long-term development, one of the most important thing is to do the education revolution. In Indonesia, he said, about 55 percent of the population is at the level of primary education, secondary 34-36 percent, then the rest of the higher education level. The government will do a lot of new regulations in the field of education in order to accelerate human resouces.
Facing AEC 2015, the minister said that he will increase the high education population to 10 percent. From the beginning approximately 6-7 percent. With the increasing educated population of Indonesia, he said, it will increase the competence in the community. By doing so, the people of Indonesia are expected to compete in the MEA. He also expressed, with the low-educated population would effect welfare. “Low education together with low welfare” he said.
This international conference is particularly as a joint cooperation between School of Business and Management-Institut Teknologi Bandung-Indonesia and Razak School of Engineering and Advanced Technology-Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and supported by Faculty of Economics, Business and Communication, Naresuan University-Thailand as a university partner.
The scopes in this conference are very wide, involving Human Capital Management, Knowledge Management and Learning Organization whereas these areas are very important and crucial in order to create business competitiveness for many organizations in all over the world. The existence of HCM, KM and LO are the main drivers to convert all of organization capital to the high-performance people and organization competitiveness to counter the speed and robust of change in many aspects of organizations.
The conference invited feature speakers from outside and inside the country.
