HongKongJune 2015 will be the month of SBM ITB Bachelor of Entrepreneurship program’s first international achievement and debut. A team, called Tanamon, consisted of second year students: Dimas Ammar Azhari, Rizki Nugraha, and Elok Kusuma Wardani advanced to the PolyU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Student Challenge semifinal in Hong Kong next June 2015.

In the competition, they propose an idea of children green toys for lifestyle topic with the same name as their team’s, Tanamon. A team, called Tanamon, consisted of second year students: Dimas Ammar Azhari, Rizki Nugraha, and Elok Kusuma Wardani advanced to the PolyU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Student Challenge semifinal in Hong Kong next June 2015.

In the competition, they propose an idea of children green toys for lifestyle topic with the same name as their team’s, Tanamon. Tanamon are various cute monster shaped dolls which combined with various kid-friendly small plants. Beside its function as a doll, the product will helps parents to educate their children on how to grow a plant. The idea comes from their interest in Japanese animation, kids, and decorative plants. The team are certain that an idea coming from passion is something great and unstoppable.

Knowledge implementation also idea and self proofing are said to be their core motivation to enter this competition. They want to proof that, as student-entrepreneurs, they can make a prospective idea. “Our study program (Bachelor of Entrepreneurship) teaches us that practice is important in business. That’s why we want to convert our knowledge into a practical use,” says Elok. As the secondary motivations, each of them are also want to see the world, gain more experience, broaden social network, and win the prize money for their start-up business.

Tanamon team will represent Indonesia in the semifinal round in PolyU Global Student Challenge (GSC) 2015 competition. In the semifinal round, they will be competing with teams from USA, Germany, Ireland, Netherland, Korea, Singapore, Hongkong, India, Australia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, and Vietnam. Wawan Dhewanto, Director of Bachelor of Entrepreneurship, SBM-ITB expects that not only they can pitch their business idea in front of international judging panel successfully, but also they can realize their idea into profitable business. He also expects this achievement can motivate other Indonesian students to compete in the international environment, As Bachelor of Entrepreneurship students, they have to manage their time well for campus, organizational, and business activities as well as preparing for the next step of the championship to win it.

With this provisional achievement, Ammar stated that they want to inspire the other students coming from the same background as them that even we can achieve something big if we try our best. “A success is gained by grabbing the right opportunity and giving the right amount of effort.
