With participants from both local and overseas universities, the conference focused on theme Leveraging Competitiveness through Innovation and Value Creation where the topic of discussions included entrepreneurship, risk management and insurance, innovation, banking and finance, human resources, knowledge management, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), tourism and hospitality, strategic management, ethics, governance, organizational change and development, and organizational behavior. Several countries such as Indonesia, Taiwan, Korea, and Pakistan were participated to present their paper in this conference.

Furthermore, the 1st International Conference presented a keynote speech from Swisscontact Indonesia and Manfred Borer, in which handled a wide range of community development programs based on innovation and value creation in several regions in Indonesia.

In addition, these activities also involved academic reviewers who played a role in selecting the proper paper to be presented in this conference. The reviewers came from various universities such as the University of Gadjah Mada, Prasetiya Mulya Business School, University of March, University of Udayana, Curtin University of Technology (Australia), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (Malaysia), Singapore Management University (Singapore), and many more.
