On March 24th, 2018, KMM ITB as a Management student organization in SBM ITB has organized a seminar about scholarships that attended by 100 students from various majors in ITB and another college. There was two main sessions in the seminar: Talkshow and sharing experience about Chevening Scholarship and LPDP Scholarship, and Workshop Essay and Interview. The first session was delivered by Aditya Mahendra as the Chevening Scholarship Awardee in the University of Dundee and Benhard Martin as the LPDP Scholarship Awardee in the University of Edinburgh. They explained what is Chevening and LPDP Scholarship, the purpose of the scholarship, who should apply it, the further eligibility criteria, what’s offered by the scholarship, and how to apply it.
Basically, Chevening Scholarship is a UK Government’s global scholarship program that funded by the FCO and partner organizations. These scholarships support one-year master’s degrees in any subject and at any UK university. Then, LPDP is an institution that provides the scholarship for future leaders of Indonesia who are highly encouraged and passionate to build the nation. They also gave participants tips and trick before and after they get the scholarship. In their last session, there was Q&A and online games. After this session, there was break and preparation for the next session.
The Workshop Essay and Interview was delivered by Nancy Setiawati as winning seven different scholarships. She gave the tips and trick to win the scholarship and explained how to make a good motivation letter and personal statement. And also she explained about the interview which has three basic question: tell me about yourself, what differs you from other applicants, and why do you pick this course subject. After that, the seminar was ended and then photo session.
