Building a strong network is one of the keys to business success. The message is clear: a well-established network can significantly boost revenue.

However, many people make mistakes when networking, such as only reaching out when they need something or focusing too much on talking about themselves.

According to Joshua Krisekaputra, Deputy Chair of the Permanent Committee for Strategy and Investment Promotion at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), networking must be authentic and sustainable. It should be built on trust and consistency, not just the exchange of business cards.

“Make yourself accessible, be present without trying to sell anything, and offer value before asking for help,” Joshua said at the International Trade & Finance (ITF) workshop hosted by the SBM ITB, in collaboration with KADIN, in Bandung 22 July 2025.

The workshop addressed not only networking but also the role of content in business. KADIN’s Deputy Chair of International Relations, Virgo Riand (William Saputra), shared insights on becoming a successful influencer in Indonesia through effective content strategies. He emphasized that consistent content posting is essential for building a strong digital presence.

By combining hard work, creative freedom, and responsibility, Virgo encouraged participants to make the most of their youth.

The workshop highlighted that quality connections and a strong digital image are critical assets in international trade and finance. Building relationships, offering value first, and leveraging social media are not just personal tactics, they form the foundation for unlocking global opportunities.
