SBM ITB recently facilitated an essential meeting between Indonesia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) and AACSB International (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), the world’s leading business school accreditation body based in the United States.

The meeting featured Prof. Togar M. Simatupang, Secretary-General of Kemendiktisaintek, and Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer of AACSB for Asia Pacific, the Americas, and Membership. The discussion was engaging and focused on the importance of continuous improvement in higher education, ensuring that the quality of learning remains sustainable and globally relevant.

The dialogue also highlighted the need for collaboration among business schools in Indonesia to establish a world-class education ecosystem. International accreditation, such as that provided by AACSB, offers a framework that can help business schools enhance their quality and global competitiveness.

Through such collaboration, Indonesia aims to develop business education institutions that not only excel academically but also play a strategic role in shaping competent future leaders who can positively impact society. This initiative will better prepare Indonesian graduates to meet global challenges while contributing to national development. Additionally, Indonesia’s position in the international education landscape will become increasingly prominent, creating greater opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
