Dr. Yuliani Dwi Lestari earned her Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Industrial Management and Engineering from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, after completing her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS), Indonesia. She began her career in the manufacturing and consulting sectors, where she gained extensive experience in operations improvement and organizational development. During her doctoral studies in Taiwan, she also served as a project teacher for undergraduate students, mentoring applied research projects in industrial and operations management.
Upon returning to Indonesia, she joined the School of Business and Management, Institut Teknologi Bandung (SBM ITB), where she is now an Associate Professor and a member of the Operations and Performance Management (OPM) research group. Her academic and research focus integrates sustainable operations, halal business ecosystems, and data-driven innovation for public and industrial transformation.
Dr. Yuliani received the Best National Faculty Award (2nd Place) from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Higher Education in 2018. In 2024, she and her research team were nominated for the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Award, representing SBM ITB together with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), and IPB University, for their collaborative initiative in developing the Indonesia National Waqf Index.
Beyond academia, Dr. Yuliani is actively engaged in policy-based research and consultancy, contributing to government initiatives, state-owned enterprises, and academic–industry collaborations in the fields of sustainable business development, Islamic finance, and industrial innovation.
