SBM ITB invited a guest lecturer in the Micro and Small Business course, Suherman Soemardi, the VP Government Relations of PT Global Digital Niaga, Monday (4/10/2021). With the presentation entitled “Micro and small business opportunity in Indonesia’s e-commerce,” Suherman explained the journey of PT Global Digital Niaga or known as Blibli, from 2010 without a name and a company to date that it has had an impact on micro, small, medium enterprise (MSMEs) in Indonesia through various events held.

Born in July 25, 2011, Blibli has the vision to provide the best experience for its consumers to build a better life through building an e-commerce ecosystem with the existing partners. From this development, Blibli learned that creativity requires courage. Corporate business needs a long-term commitment and relevant products, fair value prices, easy to do with technology, good shopping experience, delivery all over Indonesia, adaptive, and most importantly, trust and respect.

With Blibli’s dream to become a real catalyst in the group ecosystem in Indonesia and to realize Blibli’s commitment to Indonesian MSMEs, Blibli collaborates with several parties, such as Bank Indonesia, the Ministry of SMEs, and Smesco to initiate several movements and events to improve the welfare and development of MSMEs in Indonesia. Among them are the Foster Brothers of Galeri Indonesia x Smesco which aims to help MSMEs with limitations who are unable to manage their shops independently in Blibli, E2E Export Program Blibli x Youbeli which intend to expand the Indonesian MSME market by selling their products in Malaysia, and Support MSME BI in West Papua in 2021.

Blibli believes that MSMEs play an active role in empowering and reducing the number of unemployed in the regions of Indonesia. Therefore, through several efforts made, Indonesian MSMEs can continue to grow and successfully survive against e-commerce giants in Indonesia.
