Environmental sustainability may be a current trend that is keen on gaining awareness, however, have there been efforts to support the movement? Several impacts can already be seen in our day-to-day life including over-polluted landfills causing health risks. To face those problems two of SBM ITB’s Entrepreneurship Alumni, Karin Winda Lestari and Silvia Ayuni Putri created NYAMPIH (Nyampah Pilih-Pilih) that won the Best Digital Earth/Green Conservation Anugerah Innovillage 2021, Young Leaders In Act. Exclusively on SBM ITB Talks, both speakers share their thought process and story behind NYAMPIH.
Importance of Green Conservation
Looking around our environment nowadays, we can’t deny that there are lot of trash lying around in piles not taken care of. NYAMPIH is concerned about this issue, people continuously overlook the potential risks that have spread and will continue to. According to the founders, people need to have more awareness about the waste management system and the platform gives ease by providing facilities and education to waste management awareness and knowledge.
Introducing NYAMPIH
NYAMPIH (Nyampah Pilih-Pilih) is an online-based platform that connects waste beneficiaries with customers. Upholding three values to a flexible pick-up system, giving education through their application, and providing ease of in-app order. All values are delivered by placing the customer’s interest first, a simple UI/UX design, and lessons provided about waste management, its benefits, and how to recycle wastes. Through hard work, NYAMPIH successfully won Young Leaders In Act, Best Digital Earth/Green Conservation Anugerah Innovillage 2021, and earned an education and development fund in the hopes of launching very soon.

Giving their closing statements, the founders of NYAMPIH share that starting from the desire to
bring impact, great things could emerge. With a keynote of don’t look for the market but create the market, NYAMPIH is able to reach its current state.
