The property sector is currently facing challenges in the form of technological developments. The increasingly essential role of big data, increasingly advanced construction technology, and increasingly complex 3D printing are changing property governance and needs patterns, including influencing supply and demand.

This progress makes the property industry need a new comprehensive-minded property developer. Seeing this condition, SBM ITB, in collaboration with the State Savings Bank (BTN), took the initiative to organize training and education in the property sector through the Mini MBA program. The cooperation was signed on Friday, 08/26/2022.

Also attending the signing ceremony was the Deputy Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs of SBM ITB & Plt. The Dean of SBM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng., Director of Finance and Planning BTN, Nofry Rony Poetra, and Chairman of Real Estate Indonesia (REI) West Java, Joko Suranto.

According to Jaka, the relevance of the world of education and industry finds its common ground through this program. As an institution that has long been committed to producing graduates who understand and absorb the needs of the industrial world, SBM ITB tries to provide feedback in the form of academic knowledge so that it is beneficial to the community through this program.

“This mini-MBA is a tactical and strategic step that can provide adaptation to the rapid changes,” said Jaka. “We welcome the presence of BTN at SBM ITB. Together, we deliver innovation through this property partnership. We also hope that this collaboration will be an opening gate to the next collaboration.”

Director of Finance and Planning BTN, Nofry Rony Poetra, also appreciated the initiative of SBM ITB in developing property MBA. This helps BTN carry out its role as an intermediary in supply and demand.

“Strong cooperation is established in training and education, one of which is the Mini MBA in property, which has been running since 2015 but was stopped because the pandemic stopped in 2019,” said Nofry. “Now, starting again this year. Hopefully, this program can contribute more and be sustainable until it becomes a full MBA program with a major in real estate. We will fully support it.”

Mini MBA is a form of debriefing for those interested in further mastering the property business. In this program, students learned about a good location or land to be used as housing, knowledge of legality, and preparation for obtaining funds from the bank.
