In collaboration with Shell Indonesia, SBM ITB held a webinar entitled “Accelerating Energy Transition Through Innovations” on Wednesday (9/7/2022). Several speakers explained the importance of energy migration from fossil energy to new and renewable energy.

The Director of Various New Energy and Renewable Energy of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Andriah Feby Misna, at the opening of the webinar, said that the potential for using renewable energy for electrical energy in Indonesia is very high. Solar energy alone can contribute at least 3.3 terawatts of electrical power.

The Indonesian government, said Andriah, is committed to achieving the zero emission target by 2060. He hopes the development of innovative technologies and international support can accelerate the target.

Dion Jefferson, Sun Energy’s Chief Commercial Officer, opened the webinar panelist session. The discussion continued with the presentation from the CEO of Powerbrain Energy Automation, Irfan Parasat, and the Founder of Bionika, Ricardo Utoyo.

Dion said that the government aims to achieve a renewable energy mix of 23 percent by 2020. However, the realization was only 15 percent.

Dion said one of the current and on-demand electrical energy is solar energy. The solar panel business is in great demand for fast and easy installation. SUN Group, Dion’s company, focuses on rural development and has a vision and mission to provide affordable and sustainable clean energy.

Meanwhile, Richardo Petricius Utoyo stated that Bionika offers an integrated biogas system with one bioreactor that can meet several households’ gas needs. The bioreactor optimization tool functions to optimize methane gas from the decomposition of cow dung as a biogas base material.
