Learning from the experts, SBM ITB invited Boniek Adi Syahputra, an import-export practitioner, to be a guest lecturer in the Integrated Business Asia course on Tuesday (27/9/22). Boniek is the Founder and Instructor of Optima Learning (Export-Import Learning & Consultant) and Quanta Digital (Digital Marketing Course).
Boniek presented the International Commercial Terms, a set of terms used by sellers and buyers in international trade.
“Incoterms is a term to equalize perceptions and regulate obligations for exporters or importers in the shipping process. With incoterms, the complex export shipping process will be easier, and the boundaries of responsibilities between parties will be clear,” explained Boniek.
Boniek gave an overview of 11 terms in incoterms commonly used in 2020. He believed that knowing and implementing the practice of incoterms in international trade will help exporters accurately determine the selling price and the cost needed to be incurred during the export process.
Moreover, international class students in this course will practice the export and import trade process directly. Boniek invites students to interact in class, although teaching uses a hybrid method.
