The Thought Leadership and Societal Impact Team of the SBM ITB organized a focus group discussion (FGD) aimed at mapping and gathering aspirations from SBM ITB stakeholders at the ITB Gelap Nyawang MBA Campus, Bandung (31/1). The FGD aims to assist SBM ITB in map out a comprehensive plan for achieving sustainable impact.

The FGD successfully collected input from various invited parties, including students, alumni, researchers, SBM ITB teaching staff, and research partners from other faculties at ITB. Government institutions such as BOPP West Java and Bank Indonesia and companies like TACO and e-Fishery were also invited to participate.

Yunieta Anny Nainggolan, Chair of the SBM ITB Thought Leadership and Societal Impact Team, highlighted that based on the results of the survey and FGD hearings, SBM ITB is focusing on two sustainable development goals (SDGs): Goal 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities.

Following the FGD, Yunieta mentioned that the team will continue to gather input from stakeholders, consolidate the findings, and prepare a master plan for SBM ITB’s social impact. This master plan will outline programs and achievement targets to be implemented over the next 5 to 10 years, serving as the basis for curriculum development, research, community service, and other initiatives led by SBM ITB.

The initiation of the FGD procurement by the SBM ITB Thought Leadership and Societal Impact team underscores SBM ITB’s commitment to becoming a leading business school prioritizing profit and social impact.

“We hope this step can enable SBM ITB to impact Indonesia and the world positively,” said Yunieta.

The SBM ITB Thought Leadership and Societal Impact Team was established in November 2023 to reaffirm SBM ITB’s commitment to sustainable impact. Being one of the business schools with AACSB accreditation and ranking in the top 6% globally, it is fitting for SBM ITB to prioritize sustainable impacts aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in its educational endeavors.
