The 2026 Avirama Nawasena Awards (AAN), held by SBM ITB, at the SBM ITB Bandung Campus (February 11), emphasized the importance of concrete Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices and cross-sector sustainable leadership.
The Avirama Nawasena Awards are not merely a ceremony, but part of a long process of continuous monitoring and learning. Throughout 2025, the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) team at SBM ITB monitored approximately 76 industries and individuals across sectors, examining reinnovation practices, business model transformation, and ESG implementation, to identify the winners of the 2026 AAN.

“The recipients of the Avirama Nawasena Award are not those who talk the most about sustainability, but rather those who are most consistent in implementing it, who dare to make decisions, and who demonstrate real impact,” said Melia Famiola, Chair of the SBM ITB Avirama Nawasena Award Committee.
Award recipients are expected to serve as role models for students, academics, and businesspeople. The AAN also involves students from various study programs through integration with academic activities and is supported by collaboration with several partners, including the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Social Investment Indonesia, the Emil Salim Institute, and the Indonesian ESG community.
Meanwhile, ITB Vice Rector for Communication, Partnerships, Alumni Relations, and Administration Andryanto Rikrik Kusmara emphasized the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration within the “1 ITB” framework, which unites science, technology, business, and the arts to impact the nation.
Andryanto Rikrik Kusmara stated, “Initiatives like the Avirama Nawasena Award should become a tradition at ITB. This award recognizes individuals who have shown commitment, courage, and consistency in implementing sustainable practices and making a real impact on society.”

According to him, ITB continues to expand strategic partnerships with various parties as part of its commitment to being an impactful university, while also opening up broader collaboration opportunities for alumni and stakeholders.
