SBM ITB hosted a seminar titled “Leading Digital Transformation and Open Innovation 2.0: Strategies for Sustainable Impact,” featuring Martin Curley, Professor of Innovation at Maynooth University. The event, held at the SBM ITB Auditorium on June 25, was organized by the Entrepreneurship and Technology Management Research Group in collaboration with The Greater Hub Incubator. It served as a strategic platform for cross-sector collaboration among academia, industry, and government, also known as the triple helix, to promote inclusive and impactful digital transformation in Indonesia.

Martin Curley introduced his globally recognised framework, “Stay Left, Shift Left, 10x,” which has been widely adopted by healthcare providers worldwide. Stay Left refers to promoting health and empowering individuals to manage chronic conditions from the comfort of their own homes. Shift Left emphasises discharging patients as early as possible, focusing on both comfort and cost efficiency. Meanwhile, 10x Improvement advocates for radical transformation in healthcare, achieving outcomes that are ten times faster, better, and more affordable.

Curley, who is also actively involved in healthcare digital transformation, highlighted that Open Innovation 2.0 requires structured collaboration, co-creation, and a shared value system. His insights offered a global perspective on how Indonesia can develop an inclusive and sustainable innovation ecosystem.

Other keynote speakers included Phidi Soepangkat, Chairman & CEO of DesktopIP, and Prof. Eko K. Budiardjo, a representative of DesktopIP Limited. They underscored the importance of digital sovereignty and the development of a trusted local cloud infrastructure, especially in securing sensitive national data.

In addition, Hendra Suryakusuma, CEO of Greenex DC and Chairman of IDPRO, shared ongoing collaborative efforts between industry and higher education, including the development of an industry-based curriculum with ISTN Jakarta. This initiative aims to produce highly skilled professionals in the fields of data centers and cloud infrastructure.

Through this seminar, SBM ITB reaffirmed its strategic role in bridging academia, industry, and government to support the advancement of a digitally resilient Indonesia.
