SBM ITB and emlyon business school strengthen strategic partnership for global learning and research

March 7, 2026

SBM ITB has officially partnered with emlyon Business School, France through an agreement signed on March 5, 2026, at the ITB Jakarta Campus. This collaboration goes beyond student exchange, encompassing joint research, faculty collaboration, and broader academic initiatives.

The partnership enables undergraduate and graduate students from both institutions to participate in semester-based academic mobility with full credit transfer. SBM ITB students will have access to emlyon’s Global BBA and Master in Management (MiM), while emlyon students will join SBM ITB’s international programs.

Founded in 1872, emlyon Business School is among the top 1% of business schools worldwide with “Triple Crown” accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) and is ranked Top 50 globally in the QS World University Rankings by Subject (Business & Management Studies).

SBM ITB Dean, Prof. Aurik Gustomo, emphasized that this partnership opens broader learning opportunities for students.

“Students not only gain academic exposure, but also cross-cultural experiences relevant to global business needs,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday.

emlyon President and Dean, Prof. Isabelle Huault, highlighted that the collaboration reflects deeper alignment between the two institutions.

“We see a shared entrepreneurial DNA. This collaboration aims to address global challenges through innovative management education,” she said.

Antoine Bricout, the University and Education Cooperation Attaché from the French embassy, noted that the partnership also reflects the strong educational relationship between Indonesia and France. He added that France remains a top destination for Indonesian students due to the quality of its institutions and academic system.

Through this collaboration, SBM ITB continues to expand its global engagement, creating opportunities for students and faculty to thrive in an internationally connected academic environment.
