Profile

Yos is a professor in business decision modelling at the School of Business & Management – Institut Teknologi Bandung (SBM ITB) – an AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accredited institution in Indonesia. He received his PhD from the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol, United Kingdom in 2007, after completing his Master of Engineering degree from the Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan in 2004. His bachelor’s degree is in industrial engineering from ITB, graduated in 2000.

Yos joined SBM ITB in January 2010 after previously working for the University of Southampton, UK as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Transportation Research Group (TRG) in Feb 2008 – Dec 2009. In 2020-2022, he became the head of the Decision Making and Strategic Negotiation Group until now. He also serves as the Vice President of Research, Training and Development for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Indonesia from 2021 until 2023 and then Vice President of Research and Academia Linkage for ITS Indonesia (2024 – now).

He is also a member of the Decision Sciences Institute, USA. He has been the Head of MBA ITB Jakarta Program in 2010-2020 and 2022-2025. He was also the Director of ITB Jakarta Campus in 2024-2025. He is now the Director of Downstream Industry and Partnership at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Republic of Indonesia. He received awards from ITB for Teaching (2016), Institutional Development (2017) dan Research/Innovation (2024). He became Fulbright-RISTEKDIKTI Visiting Scholar at University of Washington, Seattle (2018).

Main project features: This research intends to understand the contribution of the ride-hailing industry to the country's economy, to identify the importance of flexibility in making the industry and ecosystem develop, and to understand the importance of ride-hailing services for consumers.
