Description
REHEARSING BUSINESS STRATEGY
A First National Workshop on Agent-Based Approach Agent based modeling is a computational model for simulating the behavior and interaction of autonomous agents in order to evaluate their impacts on the system as a whole. This modeling is also known as individual based modeling and has applications in various areas, including for developing a strategy in solving management, operational, and social problems.

In business context, the agent based approach has been implemented by reputable organizations, for example NASDAQ which has used an agent-based model to simulate the effects of change in regulations in the financial market in various conditions. Another important application of agent based modeling is in managing an organization. As an example, in financial institutions, the operational risks that arise from inadequate information system, operational problems, violation in internal control, fraud, or forced majeure will bring unexpected costs. Bios, Cap Gemini, and Ernst & Young have implemented agent based modeling to measure and manage their operational risk in cooperation with Société Générale Asset Management (SGAM).

Decision Making and Strategic Negotiation (DMSN) Research Group in the School of Business and Management (SBM) ITB is going to held the First National Workshop on Agent-Based with the theme “Rehearsing Business Strategy” to introduce the agent-based modeling to researchers and practitioners in Indonesia.
