My latest ones were on the impact of anticorruption law on business investment, and examination of term structure in Indonesian debt market. The first was published in the latest IICIES international conference in 2011, whereas the latter is hopefully about to get published in a journal. It discusses interest rate efficiency in the Indonesia’s money market.

Tell us about your research?
My latest ones were on the impact of anticorruption law on business investment, and examination of term structure in Indonesian debt market. The first was published in the latest IICIES international conference in 2011, whereas the latter is hopefully about to get published in a journal. It discusses interest rate efficiency in the Indonesia’s money market.
What are changes that your research bring to the management thinking?
If the market was found efficient, investors and traders can predict the future interest rates quite possibly. No arbitrage is possible, and no one can then make speculations and beat the market. To business in general, it might sound a good certainty for future when dealing with financial risk and its premia.
How do you inspire your students to lead?
“Leading is a function of impact and structure. I ask them to freely share their mind. They must speak out and talk thoughtfully. Mindless speakings are not tolerated. To me, men’s liveliness is celebrated from his/her ideas.
To my surprise and for real, some of them are quite outspoken.”
What’s your favorite thing to do that doesn?t involve teaching/research?
“I’m fond of reading. I keep a vast collections of books of extensive themes, my favorite of which are, history and biography. During the day, I read a couple of times, be it in office or at home before sleeping either. I’m actively engaged in a club movie also. At times, I manage their discussion. My strong remarkable suggestion was “”Ben Hur”” and “The Thin Red Line”. Indeed, facts and cultural sentiments are my themes, regarding my infatuation to history.
I’m keen on watching movies and TV programs as well. Talkshows and lifestyle are on my top of list. I wonder how people get laughing on Conan O’Brien, or becoming so much anxious to questions been pondered by Larry King or Oprah.
These activities are loveliest ones to me, simply because they are cultural products. They stimulate your feeling, and evoke contemporary look and contemplations on realities. ”
What does to lead means to you?
To lead means simply to influence. We are persuaded by this. Its means may vary across cultural boundaries, ranging from words, thoughts, prolific writings, ideas, achievements, yet the most necessary after all is, example. You cannot lead unless you give example. Whatever style you’re applying, it’s the essence.
