Attended by the Head of Training and Education Board KESDM, Dr. Djadjang Sukarna, who initiated the cooperation with SBM ITB for the development of the program, and Dean of SBM ITB Prof. Sudarso Kaderi Wiryono, the Minister puts great expectation on the collaboration. “Thanks to SBM ITB who always helps Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in terms of educational development,” said Sudirman Said. The minister also emphasized the importance of scientific authority – not political interference or vested interest – as the foundation of policy, so that universities like ITB need to guide the policy-makers.

The 24 new students of KESDM start their learning journey this Thursday (27/8/2015) at Pusdiklat KEBTKE in Ciracas, Jakarta. Students come from various KESDM’s directorate generals and agencies such as Education and Training Agency, Secretariat General, Inspectorate General, Directorate General of Oil and Gas, Directorate General of Coal and Mining, Directorate General of Electricity, and Directorate General of New Energy, Renewable and Energy Conservation.

The program will be completed in 18 – 24 months. “The curriculum is designed to shape their managerial and leadership skills – that is – to sharpen their ability to make decisions and lead subordinates within their institution,” said the Director of Jakarta Campus, Dr. Yos Sunitiyoso.
