SBM ITB Jakarta’s practitioner lecturer in finance, Kin Tjendrasa, has successfully defended his dissertation in Doctoral of Management Science program at University of Padjajaran on 28 December 2015. His Ph. D dissertation entitled “Financial Risks of Production Sharing Contract’s Contractors in Indonesian Oil and Industry” promoted by Prof. Dr. Hj. Rina Indiastuti. SE., MSIE as Chief Promotor, as well as Prof. Dr. H. Yuyun Wirasasmita, Msc, and Dr. R. Rina Novianty. SE., MS as Co-Promotor. The chairman for his defense was Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Mahfud Arifin, MS.
Kin who is also a seasoned energy executive with international experience and now at one of the largest national PSC contract operators defended his hypothesis that states the decline in oil production is closely related to an imbalance of risk and financial reward to the contractors. This is the main factor hampering efforts to raise production because the expected financial return of the investor doesn’t match expectations.
This also was a very nice year-end present for the lecturer of finance in BLEMBA and GLEMBA programs and hope this academic result can give a contribution to Indonesian oil and gas sector recovery, and most importantly for SBM ITB’s civitas academics. Congratulation to Dr. Kin Tjendrasa!
