Around 45 teams who participated in the Indonesian Student Micro-Credential Program (KMMI) presented their business ideas in front of the jury on Friday (10/29/2021). Out of the 45 teams, 12 of the best teams will be selected to participate in the business exhibition by ITB.

KMMI is a short course program from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology to support the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). ITB, which participated in the KMMI program, offered 4-course programs, such as entrepreneurship development, startup incubation, accelerator bootcamp, and IP3 (International preparation program) for all selected students in Indonesia.

Presentation of business ideas or pitching is one of a series of KMMI events. Previously, mentoring sessions from startup founders, such as collaboration.co, Skilvul, ZAPPS, and SIAP, were also organized for the participants to provide them insights related to startups.

During the presentation session, participants were put into six meeting rooms, where each room consisting of one judge. Participants had the opportunity to present their business ideas for 5 minutes, with 10 minutes of questions and answers.

Explore. in is one of the business ideas presented by KMMI participants. With the tagline “let’s go somewhere and heal with us,” the Explore. in team provides a platform to make it easier for tourists who want to do mountain climbing.

In the final pitching, the Explore. in team explained that this business idea started with the high number of the Indonesian people interested in mountain climbing but they are constrained by relatively expensive climbing tools, a long bureaucratic process, and manual registration for mountain climbing.

“Explore. in is a platform to make it easier for us who want to do mountain climbing,” says Ariq, who is part of Explore. in.

Besides Explore.in, there are also various other innovations from KMMI participants, such as CampusAcademy, providing ticketing for events, and Vegrand. co giving solutions for those who embrace a vegetarian lifestyle.

The Greater Hub (SBM-ITB business incubator institution) and the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (LPIK) ITB and the ITB Career Center are the implementers in KMMI, directly mandated by the Director of Student Affairs ITB.

Through KMMI, Director of Student Affairs ITB, Dr. G. Prasetyo Adhitama, M.Sn., hopes innovative and commercialized products will be produced later.
