The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) has announced on Tuesday (16/11/2021) via an official email that the School of Business and Management (SBM), the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), has been accredited by an international accreditation agency, specifically for business schools. SBM ITB is one of the few schools, around 6% of business schools, that have successfully obtained accreditation from the AACSB.

The ITB Rector, Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D., is undoubtedly grateful for this international recognition. ” To date, among the study programs located in 12 Faculties/Schools at ITB, 34 (25%) have been internationally accredited, and 59 (43%) have received excellent predicate from BAN-PT. Praise to Allah, today, AACSB adds to the number of internationally accredited study programs for ITB as an educational institution that organizes business education programs, especially in SBM.”

Meanwhile, the Dean of SBM ITB, Prof. Utomo Sarjono Putro, said that this achievement is the hard work of our dedicated lecturers, staff, school boards, industry partners, university partners, students, and alumni.

“We are proud, and it is an honor for SBM ITB to have the accreditation from AACSB. SBM ITB hopes to collaborate with other business schools worldwide to innovate and positively impact Indonesian and global society.

AACSB is an association accrediting business schools, founded in 1916, and now is available in 100 countries. AACSB connects students, teachers, and business people globally. It applies high standards in accrediting business schools; hence, only a few schools obtain the accreditation. A total of 890 institutions in 58 countries have received accreditation from the AACSB. The AACSB accredits business schools with proven excellence in teaching, research, curriculum development, and student learning.

In addition, accreditation is awarded to business schools focusing on realizing their mission, creating innovation, and bringing an impact for many parties. Only business schools with sufficient resources and committed to providing the best education for students can achieve accreditation from the AACSB. Bryant also congratulated SBM ITB, including the dean, lecturers, staff, and students, for achieving this accreditation. SBM ITB’s commitment to obtaining accreditation reflects its dedication to positively impacting students, alumni, the business community, and the industry.
