Singapore Management University (SMU) and Kinobi invited several well-known Indonesian universities, including the University of Indonesia (UI), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), and Gadjah Mada University (UGM), to participate in a symposium entitled SMU Fintech Symposium 2022. Saturday (19/02/2022).

The two-day symposium aims to introduce students to the financial technology industry, one of the current most popular industries providing many job opportunities for many people, especially students.

Several experts from fintech industry companies were presented at the 2022 SMU Fintech Symposium to enliven the event and share knowledge with students, such as Finantier, Tokocrypto, OCBC NISP, Bank Jago, Gotoko, Modalku, BukuWarung, Dkatalis. Several lecturers from UI, ITB, and UGM were invited as speakers at this symposium.

The event started on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 11.30 and was opened by Pang Xue Kai, the CEO of Tokocrypto, who presented an introduction of Cryptocurrency, followed by some exciting materials, such as P2P Lending by Mario Enrico Limantara, the Head of Partnership and Special Project from Modalku, Digital Banking by Altona Widjaja, the head of new Digital Ventures OCBC NISP, and Open Finance by Si Jie Lim, the Head of Data Science from Finantier. It was closed by an open panel by several representative lecturers from UI, ITB, and UGM: Dr. Ibrahim K.R, a lecturer from FEB UI, Dr. Raden Aswin Rahadi, an Assistant Professor from SBM ITB, and Dr. Eddy Junarsin, the Head of Business Dev and Director of Business Dev, and Incubation from FEB UGM, and Benjamin Wong, the CEO, and Co-Founder of Kinobi Asia.

Besides the financial technology industry introductions, the SMU Fintech Symposium also introduced several professions related to the Fintech Industry on the second day (Sunday, February 20, 2022). The second day was begun with a presentation by Hepiska Franatagola, Technical Lead from Dkatalis, presenting about Software Engineering, followed by a discussion on Product Management presented by Rohendy Michael, Senior Product Manager of BukuWarung. The last two presenters were Arief Ghani, the Category Business Lead for GoToko, who introduced the Sales and Business Development profession, and Elissa Vananda, the Growth Marketing Manager of the Bank Jago, sharing her experience as a Growth Marketer.

The Symposium event ran interactively and smoothly. The CEO and Co-Founder of Kinobi Asia, Benjamin Wong, said that we must consistently organize these events because they are beneficial for students who want to learn about the fintech industry. It can also be the foundation for students to prepare for their future dream careers, especially in the Financial Technology industry.
