November 21, 2025

SBM ITB held the fourth HCM Talks with the theme “Sustainability and Knowledge” in collaboration with PT Pertamina (Persero) in Jakarta on Friday (November 21st). The event discussed sustainability, knowledge management, talent development, inclusive culture, and the use of data and HR analytics.

The Dean of SBM ITB, Prof. Dr. Aurik Gustomo, and the Head of the People and Knowledge Management Expertise Group, Prof. Dr. Henndy Ginting, opened the event. Through four sessions, participants gained insights into empathetic leadership, knowledge-based innovation, and the importance of an organizational culture that supports long-term sustainability.

Dr. Agung Wicaksono, Pertamina’s Director of Business Transformation and Sustainability, served as the keynote speaker, highlighting the national energy company’s transformation journey.

“Pertamina continues to grow. Since its establishment in 1971, our services were limited and largely manual, but that foundation became the starting point for Pertamina’s remarkable journey,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sisie Marsella, Senior Manager of HRBP at Populix, presented survey results on sustainability practices across various Indonesian companies. She highlighted the gap between the level of importance and implementation, the need for more empathetic leaders, and the importance of objective promotion and equal opportunities for all employees.

The first discussion session featured Zulfikar Alimuddin from Hasnur Group and Prof. Aurik Gustomo, Dean of SBM ITB, on the topic “Sustainable Talent Development: Building Future-Ready Human Capital.” Prof. Aurik emphasized the role of accountability and social impact in driving organizational transformation.

In the second session, Ihsanuddin Usman, Director of Human Resources and General Affairs at PT Bukit Asam Tbk, emphasized the importance of Subject Matter Experts in the company’s innovation process. He stated that innovation depends not only on technology but also on the development of business models and value-creation strategies, as well as on knowledge management within the company.

The third session featured Ridho Hutomo of PT PLN Indonesia Power and Prof. Henndy Ginting of SBM ITB. Both speakers emphasized the importance of fostering an inclusive organizational culture and advancing gender equality.

“A movement is just a slogan without commitment. Culture and safety must be a priority. Without long-term cultural attention, organizations will struggle to grow,” said Henndy.

The final session featured Indira Pratyaksa, Vice President of Sustainability Strategy at Pertamina, who discussed how data-driven sustainability and HR analytics can generate long-term impact for the company. She also underscored the need for adequate infrastructure to support employees with disabilities and emphasized the organization’s responsibility to provide equal opportunities for women.

Indira noted that when hiring people with disabilities, companies must prepare accessible facilities, appropriate job placements, and ensure that accompanying staff are equipped to provide support. “The same applies to expanding opportunities for women, where limitations often stem from within the organization itself,” she said.
