In general, applicants to DSM program must have the following:

  1. Master degree from reputable universities with a minimum B accreditation is preferred
  2. GPA of Master’s degree is not less than 3.25 out of 4

Written Application

An eligible applicant for admission to DSM ITB you MUST provide a minimum TPA Bappenas score, or UPDA ITB score (not required for foreign candidates), and English proficiency scores.

Please prepare a compilation of relevant materials to showcase your qualifications. All materials must be submitted to 1) ITB Online Registration page and 2) Admission Confirmation Form by the application deadline. The relevant documents may include (but not limited to) the followings:

We require uploaded transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate academic institutions of your previous study. If you have Diploma III degree and Bachelor (extension) degree, all undergraduate transcripts must be uploaded in one attachment.

You may upload temporary or student copy of your transcript with your previous university rector/dean’s signature and stamp on the document; however, we will request an official copy for verification purposes should you be admitted to ITB.

GPA of Master’s degree is not less than 3.25 out of 4 or equivalent.

We require uploaded bachelor and master degree certificate from all undergraduate and graduate academic institutions of your previous study. If you have Diploma III degree and Bachelor (extension) degree, all undergraduate certificate must be uploaded in one attachment.

You may upload temporary or student copy of your certificate with your previous university rector/dean’s signature and stamp on the document; however, we will request an official copy for verification purposes should you be admitted to ITB.

Applicant must have Master degree from an accredited college/university minimum B in Indonesia or reputable overseas university.

We only accept the certificate of ELPT from UPT Bahasa ITB with a minimum score 113

There are two options available for taking the ELPT test:
1. Online test. Register directly through our online postgraduate registration form at https://admission.itb.ac.id with 2 fixed date options or through PSDM ITB website at https://psdm.itb.ac.id/information-test-elpt/
2. Offline test. Register directly through PSDM ITB website at https://psdm.itb.ac.id/information-test-elpt/ which will be held at Ganesha building Bandung Campus every Tuesday and Friday

Certificate of TPA Bappenas from OTO Bappenas with a minimum score of 550.

Applicants who already have a valid Tes Potensi Akademik (TPA) and meet the requirements with a minimum score of 550, can contact UUO Bappenas to send a softcopy of the TPA result along with Cover Letter/Surat Pengantar, download the template here.  Send these documents to postgraduate@office.itb.ac.id

The most important step to start your application is you have to choose your promoter and consult your research proposal to get approval. List of DSM promoter can be found in Find a Promoter page

Put e-mail address of your supervisor recommendation in ITB online registration page.

Put e-mail address of  2 (two) or more of colleagues/lecturers who have professionally cooperated with you and able to give clear recommendation.

Transfer the registration fee and generate the Virtual Account number after you finish filling the data on the online registration.

You must be able to show proof of ownership of health insurance which is valid for a minimum of 2 semesters (renewable). 

For applicants who use BPJS / KIS as health insurance, ITB only accepts BPJS / KIS documents funded by the agency/institution/company where the applicant/applicant’s parents work.

Your research proposal is expected to meet our academic standards. Therefore applicant must find a promoter who agreed to supervised your research topic during doctoral program.

Applicants are required to prepare two types of research proposal templates.

  1. Template in ITB online registration page, which include the following information: goals to enroll in doctoral program, field of study you want to pursue, proposed research topic.
  2. Template required by the study program. Download the research proposal template and choose one of the available topics:

    • Technology & digitalization;
    • AI and big data analytics;
    • Entrepreneurship
