“Always at the forefront” is the most appropriate expression to describe how competitive the SBM ITB students are. Recently, Eli Sulistyowati, a management student from the class of 2024, was awarded 1st place in the ITB Student Achievement Selection (Pilmapres) in the 2024 ITB presidential election. She outperformed representatives of outstanding students from each Faculty/School at ITB.

For Eli, this achievement is proof of her commitment to her studies and the fruit of her active participation in various activities, from competitions and organizations to building her own business.

Eli said that her achievement as an ITB Outstanding Student in 2024 was not the result of an instant process but rather an accumulation of every activity he had carried out since she first became an ITB student. Learning more is Eli’s motivation to take part in the 2024 ITB presidential election.

“I took part in this Activity to learn more and to prove myself,” said the Progressio Consulting Club President on Friday (29/3).

Pilmapres is a prestigious event that considers various aspects of student achievement, both academic and non-academic, and their contribution to the surrounding environment. In this event, representatives from each Faculty/School at ITB were asked to submit creative ideas for solving social or environmental societal problems.

“Voicable” the title of the creative idea that secured Eli’s victory as champion, having convincingly persuaded the jury during the final round of the ITB Presidential Election on March 23. Eli elaborated that Voicable serves as an application tailored to address bullying issues prevalent in Bandung, particularly among vulnerable demographics such as individuals with disabilities. Through this application, Eli elucidated that victims of bullying can promptly report incidents and seek assistance for appropriate intervention.

A significant milestone in Eli’s journey, pivotal in the presidential election, was her pivotal role in fostering a community dedicated to combating bullying in Bandung through the Bersaudara Project movement. Since 2023, Eli, under the direct mentorship of the World Research Institute (WRI), has spearheaded various bullying prevention initiatives in Bandung, forging collaborations with entities such as the Bandung City Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Service (DP3A), the Bandung City High School OSIS Forum, students from diverse universities, among others.

In addition to serving as chairman of this organization, Eli actively participates in numerous business plan and case study competitions, amassing over 30 accolades, which served as a cornerstone for her candidacy in the 2024 ITB Presidential Election.

From April to July, Eli will represent ITB in the regional to national level selection process for the Outstanding Student Selection. Eli noted that in his preparations for the ensuing stages, he consistently receives guidance from the ITB Directorate of Student Affairs and the SBM ITB Pilmapres campaign team.

It is anticipated that the exceptional accomplishments of this management student will serve as a source of inspiration for all students, particularly those within the SBM ITB community.

Eli’s message to her peers is succinct yet profound: “Don’t hesitate to endeavor! It is a privilege to engage in various constructive activities as a student. Fear not failure, and resist the temptation of premature contentment. The key lies in maintaining a spirit of curiosity, exploration, and prudent planning throughout your academic journey,” Eli emphasized.
