To increase awareness of the importance of renewable energy for the sustainability of life in the world, Shell LiveWIRE, a forum/platform that encourages the development of entrepreneurship in new and renewable energy (EBT), collaborated with SBM ITB to hold a virtual roadshow. This event was held to invite SBM ITB students to participate in the business case Shell LiveWIRE 2022 event. The event presented the success and sustainability of the initiators’ energy start-ups.

At this event, several alumni from Shell LiveWIRE elaborated materials about their start-ups and their experiences in running them. Irvan Hermala from Sharing Electricity, Fano Alfian from Aliesh Power, and Rilwanu from Powerbrain were present. Besides, the event also presented the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Dr. Ir. Hariyanto, MT, serving as the Head of Research and Development Center for Electricity Technology, New Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (P3TKEBTKE).

He explained plans and policies to meet new and renewable energy needs for Indonesia. Based on Indonesia’s agreement and commitment, which began with the Paris Agreement in 2015, Indonesia is increasingly developing technology, cooperation, and making policies to support Indonesia, which will shift towards better use of EBT in the future.

By establishing an environment to thrive in the EBT world, the alumni of Shell LiveWIRE expressed their willingness to participate in establishing start-ups in EBT, such as Sharing Electricity focusing on building access to electricity for the community using renewable energy; Aliesh Power processing biomass waste to become electricity raw materials; and Powerbrain helping save energy using IoT (Internet of Things). Not only how the process goes and the business model shared, but the presenters also explain the possible challenges and how to respond to them.
