SBM ITB has held welcoming events for new undergraduate and postgraduate students, Monday (16/8/2021). This event was divided into three sessions. The first event was to welcome new undergraduate students, followed by international and postgraduate students.

The event for welcoming undergraduate students also invited students’ parents. It was started by remarks from Prof. Utomo Sarjono Putro, the Dean of SBM ITB, followed by a detailed explanation of student activities, facilities, and academics directly by the director in the respective division at SBM ITB.

“We want to educate students who are innovative and have an entrepreneurial spirit to become leaders in the fields of business, companies, and even government institutions,” said Utomo. Students with entrepreneurial characters can see new opportunities, dare to take decisions and risks, and work together with others to create added value. This spirit is something that SBM ITB continues to emphasize in every element of its learning.

The Welcoming of International Students was held two days apart. This year, there are nine exchange students from the Netherlands, Germany, Philippines, and Madagascar. Nila Armelia Windasari, the academic advisor of the exchange program, opened this event to welcome international students who will start their studies at SBM ITB. Prof. Dr. Aurik Gustomo, S.T., M.T., the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, also attended the event. The event was brief, starting with the introduction of each student and explanations related to academics and student affairs at SBM ITB.

The last welcoming event was for postgraduate students batch 65 on Saturday (21/8/2021). This virtual event was unique because there were not only campus and academic activity introduction sessions but also material and short lectures from MBA ITB lecturers.

The founder of SBM ITB, Budi Permadi Iskandar, said that SBM-ITB emphasizes on application, not theory. SBM ITB postgraduate students are expected to study business theory independently because they will immediately be encouraged to apply theory to ongoing businesses. SBM ITB is committed to continuously developing its quality and becoming the best business school to compete internationally.
