SBM ITB, in partnership with TACO, provides free learning programs and internships for 30 Senior High school/Vocational Senior High school/ Islamic Senior High School/ Equivalent graduates throughout Indonesia. This SBM ITB pilot program is called Mini SBM.

The Mini SBM Program represents a commitment from SBM ITB faculty members to benefit the local community, particularly those who are underprivileged and lack the opportunity to pursue education or employment. Registration for the Mini SBM program will be open until October 28, 2023.

Participants will receive a certificate after successfully completing the Mini SBM program. This certificate will bear the signatures of the Dean of SBM ITB and the partnering company (TACO), ensuring their validity and high quality, thereby preparing program graduates to enter the workforce.

“Indeed, the output of the Mini SBM program does not have a title, but it is hoped that the quality will be in line with what the leaders expect because it is SBM ITB training,” said Yunieta Anny Nainggolan, Deputy Chair of Mini SBM on September 12.

The performance of SBM ITB alumni is evaluated based on various aspects, including leadership (influencing and listening), innovation (introducing breakthroughs), entrepreneurship (entrepreneurial mindset), and social awareness (empathy toward diverse cultural backgrounds). The Mini SBM program participants are on their way to developing the same competencies as other SBM ITB graduates.

Furthermore, the Mini SBM program offers additional benefits during and after participation. While enrolled in the program, participants will receive a monthly internet package worth IDR 100,000 to facilitate online learning. During the internship program at TACO Plant Cikando in Serang, participants will also receive a daily allowance of IDR 100,000 (Monday-Saturday).

After completing the program, SBM ITB will also monitor the career development of Mini SBM graduates for three years in the form of Human Capital Development, both in the form of workshops and other human resource training to support the career development of alumni.

So, participating in the Mini SBM program means you are getting a privilege. You hone your skills like an SBM ITB graduate for free and gain internship experience at a well-known company and get career development mentoring for the next three years.

Nevertheless, it’s crucial to consider other equally vital aspects. In addition to understanding the chosen field, including knowledge about salary expectations and preferred work environments, one should also focus on expanding their professional network and enhancing their abilities and skills.

Requirements for Joining the SBM Mini Program:

  1. Vocational School Diploma & SKHUN (legalized), which can be replaced with SKL (if not yet issued)
  2. Copy of KTP
  3. Copy of Family Card
  4. Copy of Domicile Letter from the Local Village
  5. Legalized copy of Grade 7 SMA/SMK/equivalent report card grades
  6. Program Commitment Statement Letter from Participants and Parents (**)
  7. Recommendation Letter from School (**)
  8. CV
  9. Motivational Essay
