SBM ITB Students bring business to Glowies event

April 15, 2026

Students from the School of Business and Management, Bandung Institute of Technology (SBM ITB), brought their business projects to life at the Glowies event in Jakarta (April 4). This activity is part of the Integrated Business Experience (IBE) course, where students not only design businesses but also market products directly to the public and influencers.

Tria Damayanti participated in this activity as a scholarship awardee from Glowies Beauty, a beauty company in Indonesia. This support not only provides financial assistance but also opens access to a broader business experience.

“Through this scholarship, we can bring our business to major events and meet many people face-to-face,” said Tria.

From College Assignments to Real Business

Loome is a brand created by SBM ITB students through IBE, featuring its main product: a viscose pashmina hijab.

According to Tria, Loome began as a college assignment. The team then conducted market research, developed the product, and built a more mature brand.

“Initially, it was just an idea from an assignment. But from there, we researched and finally understood what the market needed,” she explained.

Direct Market Testing

At Glowies, students not only showcase their products but also interact directly with visitors. They get real-time market feedback, from interest to feedback on the product.

“Here, we can see people’s responses firsthand. That validates whether our business is on the right track,” said Tria.

This event is more than just an exhibition, as it provides a space for students to test and develop their businesses.

Impactful Learning

The combination of SBM ITB’s practice-based curriculum, scholarship support, and platforms like Glowies provides a comprehensive experience for students. They not only learn business concepts but also face real-world challenges.

SBM ITB is dedicated to nurturing young entrepreneurs who are equipped to compete in the market. For students, this experience is not just about presenting a product; it involves a comprehensive understanding of the entire process of building a business, from its inception to market testing.
