Inclusive culture said to be the foundation of sustainability in the workplace

November 28, 2025

An inclusive work culture is considered a crucial foundation for corporate sustainability, particularly in promoting equality and a healthy work environment. This issue was discussed by SBM ITB and PT PLN (Persero) in Jakarta on Friday (November 21). This discussion was part of the HCM Talks 2025 hosted by SBM ITB.

Ridho Hutomo, Director of Human Capital Management and Administration at PT PLN Indonesia Power, stated that corporate transformation is inseparable from the organization’s ability to build a culture supporting all talents.

“The energy transition is not just about technology, but also about human capacity to change and grow,” he said.

To strengthen an inclusive work environment, Ridho stated that the company implemented a Respectful Workplace Policy, signed by company leaders in early 2025 and disseminated through the Srikandi Pocket Book. This policy is supported by gender mainstreaming through the Code of Conduct and internal activities, such as coffee mornings with management.

“Inclusivity, especially for women, is a crucial aspect. We formed the Srikandi Community to drive sustainability and green cultures,” he said.

PLN is also strengthening talent development through more structured coaching programs, especially for teams that need support to achieve performance standards.

Meanwhile, SBM ITB lecturer Prof. Dr. Henndy Ginting emphasized that an inclusive and sustainable culture must be built on solid management and long-term attention to employee well-being.

“Without a serious approach to work culture, a commitment to sustainability is just a slogan,” he said.

He added that a safe and healthy work culture is the main foundation for organizations seeking sustainable growth.

This discussion was part of the HCM Talks 2025 series, which also featured three additional sessions. The event also featured academics and practitioners from various sectors who shared insights on strengthening the development of a sustainable work culture in Indonesia.
